Baltimore Ravens Teammate Sends Lamar Jackson Warning To NFL
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens hope to take another step during the upcoming 2024 NFL season. After getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, the Ravens feel that they have gotten better this offseason. Looking ahead to the 2024 season, nothing short of a Super Bowl appearance and win would satisfy them.

From an individual perspective, Jackson was purely dominant during the 2023 season. Due to his impressive production, he was rewarded with the NFL’s MVP award. Now, he’s looking to reach his ultimate goal of a ring.

With the 2024 NFL season continuing to draw closer fast, one of Jackson’s teammates spoke out with a warning to the rest of the NFL about the superstar quarterback.

Isaiah Likely, a young weapon for Jackson at the tight end position, spoke out boldly about his quarterback. He said that Jackson has slimmed down some and as a result is even faster than he was last year.

“If ya’ll thought L was fast before…”

What’s Next For Lamar Jackson And The Baltimore Ravens?

Looking at the offseason that the Ravens put together, no one can be upset with the changes they made. They did lose Odell Beckham Jr. to the Miami Dolphins in free agency, but they also added superstar running back Derrick Henry as well.

One of the biggest issues for the Ravens on the offensive side of the football has been a lack of consistent production on the ground. Henry is going to fix those issues.

Simply adding Henry will force opposing defenses to respect the running game much more than they have in the past. That will open up the passing game for Jackson. His presence could also take eyes off of Jackson’s ability to run the football and allow head coach John Harbaugh and the coaching staff the opportunity to get even more creative with Jackson’s rushing attempts.

During the 2023 season, Jackson completed 67.2 percent of his pass attempts for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also racked up 821 yards and five more touchdowns on the ground.

Those numbers show why Jackson was deserving of the MVP award. However, the Ravens were unable to get the job done when it mattered most against the Chiefs.

An improved version of Jackson would be a big step towards making it to the Super Bowl, although those hopes will mostly rely on the team around him. If the Baltimore Ravens have taken a step forward with their offseason moves, they have a strong chance to take the leap into the big game.

Expect to see Lamar Jackson put together another monstrous season for the Ravens in 2024. He’s apparently faster, but his arm will be just as good as it was last season. The presence of Henry in the backfield could be the missing piece that they have been needing to find.
